Previous Chief Executive Officer, Australian Council of Learned Academies Limited
Dr Angus Henderson is Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Council of Learned Academies (ACOLA). Prior to joining ACOLA in 2016, Angus was the Director of Foreground Innovation where he advised government and assisted start-up companies to plan and develop strategic business partnerships. Prior to that, as the Principal Manager of Knowledge Sharing at the Global CCS Institute, he developed and led a global collaboration initiative to accelerate uptake of clean energy technologies. Angus has also held senior positions with the Australian Government, including policy roles in innovation, biotechnology; global science projects, and international science and technology relations.
Angus has completed post-doctoral fellowships at both Harvard Medical School, and the Australian National University. He holds a PhD in Medical Sciences from the John Curtin School of Medical Research; undergraduate degrees in medical science from the University of Sydney and the University of New South Wales. He also has completed an International Masters in Knowledge Management from Det Norske Veritas (DNV) in the Netherlands.
