Over more than 50 years, Dr Bob Frater has researched electronics, telecommunications, electroacoustics, radioastronomy instrumentation, electroacoustics and biomedical devices.
In 1996, he was made an Officer of the Order of Australia for his contributions to science, including his work on the construction of the Australia Telescope at Narrabri in northern NSW.The telescope has just celebrated its 25th anniversary.
Bob has been Vice President for Innovation with ResMed Ltd and Chief Technology Officer for Innovation Capital since leaving CSIRO in1999, where he had been Deputy Chief Executive for 11 years.
He serves on a number of advisory committees.
