ACOLA Parliamentary Seminar

This seminar is part of a collaboration between the Parliamentary Library and the Australian Council of Learned Academies (ACOLA) to bring Australia’s leading minds from Australia’s Learned Academies and other experts to important topics of interest to Parliament.

Geoengineering (also known as climate engineering) is the deliberate large-scale manipulation of environmental processes that affects the earth’s climate, in an attempt to reduce the effects of climate change. This webinar will explore the breadth of geoengineering technologies, and examine their development and the complexities of large-scale implementation, including consideration of the social, moral and ethical issues.

This session was a conversation led by Emerita Scientia Professor Rosemary Rayfuse FASSA.

The seminar was held on 22 November 2023 and recorded by the Parliamentary Library.
