Max Lu is Provost and Senior Vice-President at the University of Queensland. Previously he served as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research Linkages).
He founded the ARC Centre of Excellence for Functional Nanomaterials.
He won a Federation Fellowship twice (2003/2008).A Thomson Reuters Highly Cited in both Chemistry and Materials Science, he is an elected Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science, Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering, Institution of Chemical Engineers, Engineers Australia, and Royal Society of Chemistry.
His numerous awards include the Chemeca Medal, China International Science and Technology Award, Queensland Greats, and Australia-China Achievements Award.
