Emerging battery technologies and Australian capability | ACOLA Parliamentary Library Seminars
This seminar is part of a collaboration between the Parliamentary Library and ACOLA to bring Australia’s leading minds from Australia’s Learned Academies and other experts to important topics of interest to Parliament.
Batteries are a crucial technology to enable the world to achieve the transition to net zero through renewable energy. In recent years, we have seen battery technologies develop rapidly accompanied by falling costs. In this webinar, we’ll explore what we can expect from these trends and what opportunities there are for Australia, as a major supplier of critical minerals used in batteries, to become a supplier of batteries and battery technologies.
This session was a conversation led by Professor Thomas Maschmeyer FAA FTSE and Professor Maria Forsyth AM FAA FTSE.
The seminar was held on 5 July 2023 and recorded by the Parliamentary Library.
