Professor Nalini Joshi is Professor of Applied Mathematics at the University of Sydney. Nalini has taught mathematics at ANU, UNSW, the University of Adelaide and the University of Sydney.
She has been a Visiting Professor at Kyoto University in Japan and the University of Leeds, UK.
She was Head of the School of Mathematics and Statistics (2007-09), President of the Australian Mathematical Society (2008-10) and is now Chair of the National Committee for Mathematical Sciences and a member of the Council of the Australian Academy of Science.
In 2012, she was awarded the Georgina Sweet Australian Laureate Fellowship, to focus on creating new mathematical methods to describe critical solutions of nonlinear mathematical systems and provide activities to promote and support women and early career researchers in science.
