The implications of climate change for Australian agriculture | ACOLA Parliamentary Library Seminars
This seminar is part of a collaboration between the Parliamentary Library and ACOLA to bring Australia’s leading minds from Australia’s Learned Academies and other experts to important topics of interest to Parliament.
This webinar examines the likely effects of the changing climate on agriculture in Australia. As a major food producing nation, the rising temperatures, more extreme weather events, and variations in seasonal rainfall patterns can be expected to have flow-on effects in Australia for what can be grown, where, and in what seasons. These in turn might have significant implications on Australia’s agricultural industries and the communities that rely on them.
This session was a conversation led by Distinguished Professor Stuart Lockie FASSA and Distinguished Professor Brajesh Singh FAA.
The seminar was held on 20 September 2023 and recorded by the Parliamentary Library.
