Creating a Disability Responsive Workforce | ACOLA Parliamentary Library Seminars
This seminar is part of a collaboration between the Parliamentary Library and ACOLA to bring Australia’s leading minds from Australia’s Learned Academies and other experts to important topics of interest to Parliament.
This session was a conversation led by Professor Iva Strnadová and Professor Karen Fisher FASSA on the context and adequacy of training of professionals to support the needs of people with disability in Australia. The seminar highlighted six key principles to enhance training for all occupations, and actions governments, education providers, professional bodies and employers can take.
This discussion builds on a recent report by ACOLA entitled Ensuring Occupations are Responsive to People with Disability. Professors Strnadová and Fisher were the chairs of the Expert Working Group for that project.
The seminar was held on 14 December 2022 and recorded by the Parliamentary Library.
