Future of Australian Workplaces | ACOLA Parliamentary Library Seminars
This seminar is part of a collaboration between the Parliamentary Library and the Australian Council of Learned Academies (ACOLA) to bring Australia’s leading minds from Australia’s Learned Academies and other experts to important topics of interest to Parliament.
The COVID-19 pandemic brought about many changes to Australian society, particularly the way in which we work. With advances in digital technologies such as AI, global supply chains, changing demographics and shifting organisational cultures, nature and place of work and work practices, there are new opportunities for transforming the way we work. With this comes challenges, such as uncertainty about the future of jobs and employment pathways, as well as opportunities for governments and businesses – especially to support productivity, innovation and health and wellbeing.
This presentation will explore how the ‘what, how, where, and who’ of work is changing in the future, with potential implications for Australian’s health, productivity and inclusion. Implications for employees, employers, businesses, and government will be discussed.
This session was a conversation led by Distinguished Professor Sharon Parker.
The seminar was held on 22 February 2023 and recorded by the Parliamentary Library.
